Hard at work!

No, I didn't skip the month of August so that I could take a good Spanish vacation! I actually got put into a last-minute class for my C-130 requal that has me a little busy, along with the 8 million other things going on in our lives now. So, here's the important stuff we had in August:

  • e & I heard the baby's heartbeat at her 1st appointment. #2 appointment and #1 ultrasound is tomorrow.

  • e felt the baby for the first time last week.

  • My mom came to visit for our birthday. It's on the same day and we got to celebrate together for the first time in 5 years or so.

  • We got the BMW the day after my mom left.

  • We've looked at nearly 30 houses and bid on 1. The owner wasn't interested in negotiating so we walked away.

  • I got into a C-130 requal class that's really for new pilots. So, I'm with 4 guys right out of UPT, one of whom is a major with 11 years in the Herk as a Nav, and one guy who's upgrading to the left seat.

  • e not only let me but ordered me to get a new computer so that I could have Windows and Linux at the same time without using her machine.

I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting, but I'll come back and edit it later and you'll never know I forgot.

Wow!

Somehow this makes it all more real, while at the same time neither of us can believe it's really happening.

A little change...

Well, after 3 days of 20-30 spam comments a day, I finally decided to do a fresh install of Movable Type while upgrading to 3.11. This allowed me to easily turn on the comment registration system without having to recode the individual templates. As a side effect, you can see that I now have a new style for the blog. I think I'll keep this style for now, but in the days ahead I'll be slowly re-adding my links to the index page and changing other preferences to make it mine again.

What does this mean to you? Not a whole lot unless you're one of the 3 people who semi-regularly comment on the blog. You will now have to register with the Typekey service in order to comment. Don't worry, they'll walk you through it the first time you try to comment. From then on, it should be very easy to leave a message here.
